Gap, hold, or uncertainty
The design preserves the difference between a missing step and a passing result.
QUALITY DECISIONS / PHYSICAL WORK / HUMAN-GOVERNED
Earthward Foundry is developing a narrow evidence-led quality and traceability pilot for one high-mix, low-volume manufacturing part family. The aim is not to automate acceptance. It is to make the evidence, hold, correction, and accountable human decision easier to reconstruct.
THE PUBLIC QUESTION “Could another person reconstruct why this part was held, reworked, or accepted—without asking the person who happened to be there?”
01 / THE WORK LOOP
Earthward’s first public focus is deliberately narrow: one discrete-manufacturing part family and the quality evidence around its release-to-acceptance loop.
Begin with the relevant part and revision context, rather than creating a record after a problem emerges.
Keep an observed inspection result tied to the part record so it cannot quietly migrate between revisions or outcomes.
When a nonconformance or missing fact appears, make the condition visible instead of presenting an incomplete record as complete.
Capture the reason and accountable authority for a rework or disposition event in an append-only sequence.
The final irreversible acceptance decision belongs to the responsible person, with evidence available for a later review.
PROPOSED FIRST OFFER / EVIDENCE-LEDGER PILOT
The proposed initial pilot serves a Quality Engineer or records specialist, with adjacent manufacturing and inspection roles. It is a configured, human-governed implementation—not self-service software and not a promise of broad agent coverage.
Read the documented pilot scope02 / WHAT THIS CHANGES
Public language should distinguish evidence management from the standards authority, specialist judgment, or calibration chain needed to support a particular measurement claim.
The design preserves the difference between a missing step and a passing result.
An append-only event should make the change and responsible role inspectable later.
The proposed pilot starts with a structured record, not a platform claim or locked-in data story.
Tools can organize evidence; accountable people retain consequential decisions.

Earthward Foundry is building the conditions for a credible first evidence loop. The source is public; the protected services are not a public product; and the responsible person retains the acceptance decision.
